2011 year in Review

Wow, what a year!  But, wait… where did it go?  Is it really already over?!??  It seems like just a blink of an eye ago that we were photographing Sabrina & Wille’s wedding in sunny Puerto Rico.  The road trip came and went, and we’re even married now ourselves!  Craziness.  I hope 2012 brings just as many exciting adventures and changes… but I do hope it goes a little slower.  First goal on the list… get settled in Portland!  My fingers are crossed that we fall in love with it all over again and never want to leave.  I’m ready to be settled somewhere for a while… I don’t like drifting around so much though we seem to do a lot of it 😉  There’s a difference between traveling (which I love), and not being quite sure where to call home (which I don’t love)!

We didn’t shoot as many weddings this year since we were traveling around the USA for most of wedding season, but we definitely got to shoot in some great locations!  Here’s a few destination wedding locations we loved…

  • Puerto Rico
  • Marietta, PA
  • Minden, NV
  • Charleston, SC
  • Martha’s Vineyard (this awesome one hasn’t hit the blog yet, but we promise it will be coming eventually!)

We also had a TON  of portrait sessions all over the United States… here were some of our favorite places and cities we had for backdrops…

  • Salisbury, MD
  • Washington, DC
  • Parkersburg, WV
  • Buffalo, NY
  • Phoenix, NY
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Lake Chelan, WA
  • Seattle, WA
  • Yosemite National Park, CA
  • Scottsdale, AZ
  • Bentonville, AK
  • Long Valley, NJ
  • San Diego, CA
  • Lake Tahoe, NV

We also had work featured in the Knot NC magazine this year as well as on both Ruffled and Carolina Bride blogs!

I pile any shots we get of each other into a folder and don’t really look at them until the end of the year for these posts… it’s sort of fun:)  Here are a bunch of favorites…

I climbed up on a huge rock to get a little more height during the ceremony… I was terrified I was going to fall off and make a big scene… but luckily I didn’t:)

So, it’s been a great year and we are constantly reminded how lucky we are to have such great, wonderful, awesome clients who allow us and help us to have this job we absolutely love!  Thank you all so very very much!!!  And we can’t wait to welcome new 2012 clients to our little photo family:)

  • Kay Gentry - Thank YOU for sharing! We have enjoyed your wedding posts so much and Caroline got a Nikon SLR from her dad for Christmas because you both have inspired her so much. Best of luck in Portland and we look forward to stalking you in 2012!ReplyCancel
