We’re already on day 3 of the new year and I feel like I’m still catching up to the end of 2010. But that’s not to say I’m not ready to welcome 2011 with open arms. I’m looking forward to all that is already planned for this year and even more to all that the new year can bring!
2010 brought so many wonderful new opportunities that I have to look back at my calendar just to make sure I’m not forgetting anything! First of all, we shot over 150 sessions this year. Say what?! I am still in shock that we were so busy. Ben and I attended the Spread the Love tour in January, I caught the Sandy Puc’ tour in February, and then in March Ben and I traveled to Las Vegas for WPPI. I had 3 different interns over the course of the year which was a fun new learning experience for us all. I started doing in house proof viewing sessions with portrait clients which has proven positive in way more ways than one. I quit eating white sugars/fructose and white/wheat flour in May and don’t plan to look back since my energy has doubled and I don’t feel disgusting after every meal now. We traveled more for photography reasons than ever before (In NC alone we shot in all these cities – wilmington, burgaw, chapel hill, raleigh, hampstead, wallace, smithfield, winston salem, durham, madison, beech mountain, warrenton, waxhaw, weddington, monroe, matthews, denver, gold hill, linwood, clemmons, huntersville, mooresville, davidson, lake norman, indian trail, fayeteville, carolina beach, topsail beach, concord, wrightsville beach, and then also charleston, SC, savannah, GA, and new york, NY)!!! And then of course, the biggest and most exciting thing we did in 2010 was launch our plans for Road Trip 2011 and launched a free wedding photography contest for a couple anywhere in the USA to win (we’ll be heading to Pennsylvania for the winning wedding in June)! We’ll also be heading to Puerto Rico in just a few months for Sabrina & Wille’s wedding which we’re completely stoked about as well!!!
Also, in 2010 we were featured on Living Social and I just want to thank all of the wonderful people who were willing to impulsively purchase a session with us! It was lots of fun meeting and working with each of you this year and, although we are leaving Charlotte, hopefully we can all work again together in the future!
And of course a huge thank you to all of our 2010 wedding couples! You are all fabulous and are the reason we keep on doing what we do! Best wishes to you all!
And if you weren’t a wedding client or a Living Social client, of course we love you just as much and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us and our craft! Hugs!
Here are a few of our goals for 2011…
- Have a successful and safe Road Trip
- Spend way less on the Road Trip than we’ve estimated so that we actually have money to move and live somewhere when we get back!
- Fall in love with a city that is perfectly us
- Find a place to live that is perfect space/energy/harmony for all we need
- Book at least 5 weddings for the months remaining and following the road trip
- Start running or go to yoga regularly again
- Drink more water
- Shave (haha this one is an immediate goal that will most likely be happening before this post is even live)
- Design new website
- Start running again
- Quit Smoking
- Live somewhere with a room to call my own to have space to paint
- Paint more
- Complete a painting
- Learn Illustrator better
