Annie was one of the first friends I made when we moved to Charlotte. Unfortunately she didn’t stay around very long before going off to college in another city and then she went to work/study in Italy and then she eventually moved to Buffalo. Before we left Charlotte to take to the road, I found out that Annie was engaged! She described it as “engaged in a whirlwind!” I couldn’t wait to meet this man of hers and photograph their engagement session. They met in Niger Africa, when Annie accompanied his brother (who was once hosted by her family in Charlotte many years ago) back to see his family for the first time. Love at first sight!
Annie looks so genuinely happy in this photo… I don’t think I’ve ever seen a happier smile! Just look at those beaming eyes 🙂
When Annie was in Niger she had someone tattoo the marks by her eyes, which is something the women there traditionally do.
I LOVE this next shot… I love it when birds perfectly fly into a shot!
Soumaila loves apples and apparently was eating about 4 a day since he came to the USA before he decided he should cut back 🙂
And I finish this post with a shot of the oldest tree in Buffalo, and a shot in one of the Olmstead Greenways… the designer of NYC’s Central Park.
