When Beth told me that she and Daniel would tie the knot as well as party at the Burgaw Train Depot, I was really excited, but I must admit I was a little concerned with how well it would photograph, being practically smack dab in the middle of the Piggly Wiggly parking lot.  See, I grew up in Burgaw, and when you see a location your whole life, sometimes it’s hard to see it with fresh, new, inspired eyes.  But, the Depot recently had a HUGE renovation and even more recently opened it’s doors for weddings.  GORGEOUS.  That’s what I have to say about the depot and the wedding.  I knew, halfway through the day, that this one would make it into my top 5… maybe my top 3 favorite weddings that I’ve shot to date.  I think it was a combination of the location, the colors, and the people.  It was such a smooth flowing day (high five for organized, careful planning!)

The inside of the Depot was so pretty, with lots of original pieces incorporated into the remodel, including the gorgeous dark wooden doors that are now hanging in front of the large windows and can slide open to let in the light.

one of my favorite shots of the day!

take in some of these details!

another favorite shot of the day… the flower girl just started dumping out all her flowers when she got to the front… cuteness.

notice the big red caboose in the background…

notice the bird flying at the top in the left photo.  this was the beginning of a weekend full of birds flying into the frame at just the right moment.

thanks Barbra for letting us use your lovely patio!

another perfect bird flew into frame…

this ring is over 100 years old and was Beth’s something borrowed, something old, AND something blue

love the HOT pink cake!

Beth was most excited about their getaway car.  Wouldn’t you be too?

  • Louis West - The photography is fantastic. It caputured the essence of the moment which was happiness/love/fun. The only thing it didn’t capture was the irrepressible heat/humidity. Usually I avoid weddings, but for Beth/Daniel the sky’s the limit. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage.
