Jess contacted me about photographing their wedding during the road trip, but unfortunately we would be on the opposite side of the USA on their big day. Luckily, however, we were able to work out an engagement session for them in their hometown of Long Valley, NJ. I’m really glad we were able to visit them as it was such a gorgeous little mountain town and they were the sweetest couple. Ben and I camped in the Voorhees State Park and woke up at sunrise for the session. We started at the Schooley’s Mountain General Store and then walked down the street to visit “Bert” an ancient tree (the town’s old hanging tree actually) that has since been sculpted into a bird. We ended the session at the Schooley’s Mountain Park where we did a bit of hiking on the trails! Jess & Mark were so much fun to work with! And they gifted us with the awesome “Weird NJ” book… the first of it’s kind!
