Brandi & Chris had us visit them in NYC for their engagement session back in May. One of my favorite things about being a photographer (when I’m not actually taking photographs) is the opportunity to travel and visit different places, or the same places but with new eyes and new people each time! Plus, most of the time we get enough free time to consider it a mini vacation!
I love New York and have visited numerous times. It’s a place I love love love to visit, but I’ve never really felt the urge to live there. I love the energy, but I prefer something slightly smaller and less chaotic. I need simple and stress free.
Has anyone seen Ben’s Polaroid hoodie? It’s gone missing, and of course, when anything goes missing, it’s my fault. So, can someone step up and admit you’re the culprit who has his beloved hoodie? Cause, it’s definitely not me.
Appalachian State University has an apartment in the city. Gotta love ASU!!! It’s right in the middle of everything and is so quiet and clean. I love staying there when we visit NY. During this past visit I even got to see one of my favorite college photography professors while we were staying there too! I should have snapped a photo of him for the blog, but all I got was this silly photo of Ben in the lounge area.
It was so so cold almost the entire time we were there. I actually was so desperate for some warmer clothes on one of the days when it was also rainy, that I invaded the “lost and found” bin at the Loft. I found a pair of mittens and an umbrella!
Finally, our last day in the city was a pretty day. Somewhat warm & not raining! So, we took a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
We heard about Grimaldi’s Pizza in Brooklyn (supposedly the best pizza ever) and so we braved this long line for over an hour to finally get seated inside. We both agree that Fuel Pizza is still better.
We napped in the park overlooking the harbor until it was time to head back to the airport.
Love the Flat Iron Building! One of my favorite buildings of all time:) How does it not just topple over when a gust of wind comes through?
I’m so looking forward to our adventures on the road next year! May can’t come fast enough, but I’m trying not to think about it or talk about it too much until at least January… so that’s all for now!
