Here you’ll find lots and lots of images and see shoots more in-depth. I first met Christy & PJ at one of my very first weddings.  Christy was a bridesmaid and PJ, well, he was her date of course:)  I remember how cute they were together standing off to the side of the dance floor with their arms around each other just smiling and watching everyone dancing and doing a little dancing themselves every so often.  This August they celebrated their 5-year marriage anniversary and wanted some fun photos of the two of them together because they never had an official engagement shoot.  So off we went to Christy & PJ’s home in Chapel Hill, NC…

So cute!

this was the church where they were married…

these two love cycling… so naturally we brought out their bikes for a few shots!

isn’t Christy so pretty?  and she has the best hair!

they both went to school at UNC Chapel Hill and were involved with the band, so they spent a lot of time in and around the stadium…

If you were a follower of our old blog, then you know that we are involved with http://www.couchsurfing.org and love it!  We’ve had the opportunity to surf several couches on our travels the past few years and have had the pleasure of hosting quite a few fellow surfers at our couch as well.

Most recently we had Jen & Uchenna from Brooklyn, NY stay on our couch.  They were on their Summer tour with their band The Fools.  Unfortunately, I was unable to make their show in Charlotte, but they left me with one of their cds and these two gals are super talented!  They stayed for too short a period but they were very delightful guests to host and I hope to meet them again during future travels!

Check them out!

Pam & Trevor finally tied the knot after more than 10 years together:)  Loved working with these two!  They had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at the gorgeous Poplar Grove Plantation in Hampstead, NC.  You may remember Pam’s maternity session I posted a couple of months ago… so of course there was a darling bundle of joy present for the double celebration!

Let’s start out with the slideshow from their day… the song is one that was included on a mixed cd that they gave out to guests as wedding favors:)

This handsome little ringbearer was running down the aisle heading for the front full speed until he reached the people… then he stopped dead in his tracks, looked at me, and hit the grass… so cute:)
The couple wrote and read their own vows… let’s just say there seriously wasn’t a dry eye in the garden…
everyone trying to hold it together…

Pam & Trevor opted for a “first look” to happen before their ceremony.  We didn’t have a ton of time for the creative session photos of the bride & groom & wedding party due to time restrictions of the plantation, so the best option was to have the couple see each other before the ceremony.  We scouted a cute spot with pretty light and stationed ourselves far enough away to give some privacy & then had Pam sneak up behind Trevor.  It was such a sweet moment!  Often times, this is the perfect option for getting the best & most natural images of the couple, especially if you need some extra photo time.  Afterward we were able to go ahead and get all the fun wedding party portraits taken care of so that after the ceremony any extra time was just icing on the cake!

From Pam… “We both feel that the first look did not take away from the ceremony but instead it worked out better to be able to take pictures before so that we could spend more time with our family and friends afterward.  Also, the first look was awesome because we were surprised when seeing each other and we did share a moment that we don’t think would have taken place in front of everyone, it was so sweet.  Trev and I were able to take each other in during the moments before everything unfolded… because it got pretty crazy after that with all the people to thank.”

  • Kayla - BEAUTIFUL! I love how they took their pics before and you were able to capture the “first look.” Often times it seems that through the fast paced nature of weddings, the first look isn’t always captured the way it should be. Especially when you are standing in front of an audience of people. This is a more-relaxed way of doing it and makes it more intimate between the couple. Wish I’d done my wedding this way. I LOVE THE PICS!ReplyCancel

  • Ann Balogh - WOW! Loved the pictures. You definately captured the love that shows in their faces!ReplyCancel

  • BJ Ryan - Crystal, Enjoyed being able to see the photos, especially since we couldn’t be at the wedding. You did a great job. – bjReplyCancel

We got to bring out the photobooth once again this year for Pam & Trevor’s wedding at Poplar Grove Plantation in Hampstead, NC! As always, it was a big hit!

Due to some unforeseen space restrictions, we did the photobooth outside this time!  At first we didn’t think it was going to work because of all the wind… but it settled down by sunset.  The we didn’t think it was going to work because it was pitch black in the little tent we set up under and there were issues getting the tent lights working.  But in the end, it all worked out well and made for some fun “behind the scenes” photos of the photobooth in action… enjoy!
