Road Trip 2011 – Day 2 – Norfolk, VA

After Richmond we headed to Norfolk for a night but unfortunately didn’t really get to see the majority of the town since I got a flat tire.  But we had another awesome couchsurfing host, Steve, who cooked us an amazing Indian feast using the skills he acquired when he backpacked through India for 3 months.

Steve took us out to one of the local bars where we checked out The Antique Scream, a band from Seattle.  The next morning I had to get my car towed because of the tire.

Then we were on our way to Cambridge, MD for Kelli & RJ’s engagement session!  The Chesapeake Bay bridge was fun and of course we stopped for a photo…

Our rating of Norfolk compared to Charlotte.  Charlotte being a 0, +3 being definite contender for our new city…

I thought the city was quaint and pretty, but I want somewhere with a little more variety… I need lots of international shops and restaurants.  It seemed like a quaint, fairly safe place, but a little generic.  It did seem to have a slightly healthier music scene though which is a plus for Ben.
