On day 71 we photographed Kyle and Alyssa’s gorgeous wedding in Minden Nevada. Afterwards we stayed one more night in Minden and then we woke up and drove straight to and straight through Yosemite. We had a portrait session at the very South end of the park and didn’t have much time to stop and look around.
First we drove by Mono Lake, a salt water lake on the border of Yosemite Park’s East entrance. Ben was sleeping but I jumped out and took some photos and explored a bit. It was an interesting looking lake with stalactites coming up out of the water, a big black island in the middle, and such. Oh, and seagulls everywhere.
That night after the photo shoot we were going to try to make it all the way to San Fransisco to get a head start the next day. We didn’t make it very far… only to Madera California. I called ahead and got permission to sleep in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and when we got there found out that lots of homeless people sleep in the parking lot in their cars as well. One of them was very nice and told us a good place to park to not be bothered. Except, the next morning when I looked out of our back curtain, there was a huge SUV practically on top of our car. It was a bit of a shock. There was maybe a centimeter of space between their front bumper and our back bumper. Like, really dude?
