We left the campground and headed back into Portland to give it a little more exploring. We started with the Saturday Market by the waterfront and checked out the vendors and entertainment.
After checking out the market and grabbing some lunch from the food truck lot, we headed down to check out Corvallis, OR on a tip from our friends over at Tracy Turpen Photography. They recently visited on a whim and loved it so much they plan to move there next year. So, of course we HAD to check it out too! While we were there, Ben even met a guy who said he visited for 3 days, loved it so much and moved there the next week… not knowing a soul. It was a great little town, with a great little coffee shop where we heard an awesome local band called GUMBO. I’d almost like to move there just to be able to check out their shows on a regular basis But overall, once again, it was missing something for us. Maybe it was a little too sleepy? I don’t know… maybe we’re too picky! Portland, on the other hand, is where it’s at for us.
After spending some time in Corvallis, we headed to some campground in some national forest. All the campgrounds and forests are blending together I can’t even remember most of them and have likely gotten them all confused and mixed up. Oh well, I’m not even gonna try for this one!
Our rating of Portland compared to Charlotte. Charlotte being a 0, +3 being definite contender for our new city…
