Road Trip 2011 – Samoa Boat Ramp Camp & Eureka, CA – Day 63

This map is backwards in it’s lettering, but the route is the same:)  We found camp at the Samoa Boat Ramp recreation area in Samoa.. just outside of Eureka, CA.  We slept in the car because I was freezing.  It was the first campsite we’ve stayed at since NJ that had a shower.  It was great!

We decided to have a laundry and internet day in Eureka and parked ourselves first in the laundromat and second in a Starbucks until a little before sunset.  Then we headed out to the forest to find a camp and start making out way West towards Lake Tahoe. We caught the most awesome sunset on our way to find a campground.  It was just gorgeous!

We found a nice campground at East Fork Camp and had a nice stream in which to wash my hair in the morning:)  There’s nothing softer than freshly washed in ice cold stream hair.
