Road Trip 2011 – Seattle, WA – Day 52

We decided to stay another night in Seattle.  I really really really wanted Seattle to be “our city”.  Ben loves it there, and there are a lot of things about the city that I absolutely love, but deep down it feels like it’s missing something.  I thought maybe I just needed to give it a little more time… also give it a little more time to see if the clouds would lift.  We visited Seattle in 2007 and it was gloomy the entire time.  I was hoping we’d get at least a small glimpse of Seattle’s good days… but we didn’t.

But it is a beautiful city, so we enjoyed it for the time we were there!

We had delicious espresso…

I visited the farmer’s market and bought gluten free pasta and garlic scapes to make… garlic scape pesto… yum!

We enjoyed all the colorful outdoor plants EVERYWHERE…

We walked to one of the Olmsted Parks and climbed the observatory tower…

Where we had great views of the city…

and learned more about Olmsted’s work

We’ve visited numerous Olmsted Parks during our trip & in our lives… here are a few I remember… Seattle, NYC, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Louisville, Chicago, DC, Detroit, Portland Maine, & Boston
