I recently traveled to Chicago, IL to visit my dear friend Tola & her great beau Jared. They are stupid cute together and have the most awesome apartment (and life), that just begs to be photographed by my camera So, they let me follow them around all day long documenting their day to day adventure. We started in the morning when they donned their matching kimono robes, and I captured their silliness in the kitchen, making coffee and pancakes. Then, after eating breakfast, they performed their daily ritual of watering Tola’s jungle, and then relaxing with tea on the couch.
A little slipper fuzz for some laughs!
All fueled up and ready to hit the streets of Chicago!
First stop is the floral shop, A New Leaf in Lincoln Park, to buy Jared’s mom some flowers for her birthday. Awwwwww. But first, a little pitstop in their colorful patio area. A New Leaf is such a unique space, and they even offer it as a wedding venue!
Then on to Warby Parker’s new store on Armitage to check out some frames for Tola. She found a winner!
Then we headed to Ravenswood in North Chicago/Lincoln Square for the Show of Hands Art & Craft Show. But first we walked around the block for some portraits with the last bit of light of the day. Then we stopped again in the lobby of the Ravenswood Event Center because it had a great marble staircase and moody lighting
These two. So stylish!
After walking around the craft show, we stopped next door at Architectural Artifacts. Wow, that shop had so many neat things to look at and photograph. And, it’s also a wedding venue! Such cool venues in Chicago. I would love to shoot a wedding here!
After all that fun, we really needed a pickmeup, so we stopped by Heritage Bicycles for a coffee. Tola ran into some friends and I typed out a message on their counter Underwood typewriter.
Finally, dinner with Jared’s parents (no photos for that) and then on to their hotel, The Blackstone, which was also a really amazing place for interesting photos.
Goodbye Chicago. Until next time!
